Since 1971, Bawa Caterers was established in Patiala. Now, It has been speread all over the Punjab as well as Haryana, Chandigarh, Ganganagar, Rajasthan & Himachal Pardesh etc. Our ancestors worked as a cook at Lassikhana (where food uses to prepare) in Maharaja Patiala S. Bhupinder Singh's reign. In this Lassikhana, they use to prepare the food for 1200 people daily. In Moti Bagh (Now NIS) food was prepared for Maharaja's 300 Queens and many more people. There were 80 cooks in Maharaja's Lassikhana. In them, My Great Grand father S. Narain Singh and My Grand Father S. Bakhtaur Singh used to work. Maharaja of Nabha to work in his Lassikhana. He was excellent cook who use to prepare distinct dishes.
When Viceroy of India came to Patiala, his food was prepared by my Grand Father S. Bakhtaur Singh. Viceroy was very pleased with the food. He gave him a certificate with many rewards which is still preserved by us. Narain Singh's second son, who is my Grand Father was also a brilliant cook. He was working as a Head Cook at Chandigarh Circuit House. My brother S. Kesar Singh also a well known cook in Patiala. There are 10 cooks working in our catering. Our Catering has good name and fame. It is progressing day by day. It is all due to God's Will.
